The umpiring stocks have been hit with Darren Thomas deciding to move back to his native Victoria next season to be closer to family and with business.

Also the local Basketball Development Officer; Thomas moved to Coffs Harbour having umpired in the Essendon Football League and Northern Territory, and attained his Level 1 Accreditation whilst with the group for one season.

Despite being with the group for a short period of time, Thomas managed to umpire the Reserves Grand Final and also officiated the 1st Senior Semi Final and was one of the big improvers throughout the season.

Thomas, in commenting on his experience with the local League, was complimentary towards the umpiring group.

"The umpiring fraternity on the North Coast is a sensational group and I'm definitely going to miss the camaraderie," he said.
