Saints Short Favourites
It looks like the first semi final between Sawtell/Toormina and Grafton today is a formality. The Tigers have not got within a bull’s roar of the Saints all year and barring a miracle, or an act of God, will progress into the preliminary final in a fortnight. The Saints seem to have timed their charge perfectly and will be looking to get their team structure in order on the expansive C.ex Coffs International Stadium.
Tigers Long Season Nearly Over
The Grafton Tigers have battled from the start of 2016 with low numbers and injuries to key players. Today both the U18 and Senior sides are at long odds to progress in what is likely to be a blessing for a club that has had more playing talent on the sidelines watching than pulling on the black and gold. Let’s hope 2017 fares better.
Breakers Head All Grades
The newly formed Coffs Breakers have exceeded all expectations by finishing on top of all three grades in 2016 with the Reserves settling their top spot last Saturday. Consequently all Coffs sides have the benefit of a well earned rest this week. Congratulations to Breakers on an outstanding achievement.
No Love Lost
Port Macquarie Reserves and Macleay Valley Eagles line up in what promises to be a classic cut throat first semi final at C.ex Coffs International Stadium. The match is expected to be a real contrast in styles where Macleay Valley will bring a running game against Port’s ball movement. Neither side gives an inch and this promises to be the match of the day with nothing separating them all season.
