Six former AFL North Coast players have a rare chance to display their skills in front of recruiters from all 18 AFL clubs this Sunday (6 March) when they take part in matches to be played between the Sydney Swans and GWS Giants Academy squads.
Shaydan Close and Chris Holten (pictured, both formerly of Macleay Valley Eagles) will play for the Swans Academy U16 team, and will be joined in the red and white of Sydney by Jake Brown, Jack Mapleson (formerly Coffs Swans), Max Lower (formerly Port Magpies), and Eli Prescott (formerly Macleay Valley Eagles) in the U18 team.
This is a fantastic chance for the six players to put themselves in the eye of a recruiter from an AFL club, especially for the U18 players who are likely to nominate for the draft at season's end.
The matches will be played at Tom Wills Oval, Homebush on Sunday 6 March. The U16 match commences at 11:00am and the U18 match starts at 1:10pm.
AFL North Coast wishes all six players good luck for these important matches.
