A great Start for Riyadi in the West Asian League

In the opening game for the West Asian League Riyadi – Beirut started its campaign with a strong message to all participating teams after beating Zob Ahan in Aleppo at the score of 81-66.

The West Asian League is played this season on a different format which will be bring more excitement to the Basketball in the region, the teams are divided into two groups, the first round will be played in Aleppo for Group A and in Amman for Group B, the first 4 ranked teams in each group will the quarter final on a home and way format, the winner will qualify to the semi final with a best of 3 format and the final with a best of 5 format.

 

Riyadi – Beirut had a good start in the WAL, after having a close first half in which the Iranians managed to have a small priority Riyadi players focused on the second half and imposed their game and cruised into an easy win at the end at the score of 81-66. Loren Woods had one of the best games of the season with 28 points and 15 rebounds; he was followed by Jean Abed El Nour with 18points.

 

Riyadi will be playing Jalaa today at 20:30, the game is supposed to be the first position game.
