Loser would-be robber leaves without even a dribble...

The Board and Staff of Coffs Harbour Basketball would like to apologise to our Saturday morning players, coaches, referees and supporters who were inconvenienced this week by a would-be robber who broke into our administration office but left with not even a dribble.

In a ten minute period the offender managed to search through cupboards and draws and in the process was captured on our closed circuit television and left behind strong forensic evidence.

The robber left after removing our cash from its mountings, but when he finally gets to open it - he will discover it is empty.

CHBA are quite happy to make it known that no cash is left unsecured on the premises at the end of every day.

Copy cats need to know that among our members and board are several presently serving and recently retired police officers who still have strong links with the force.

The game is not over yet  as the CHBA offence is on the move.  We are very confident that it will not be long before the offender is serving a penalty period - we only hope it is long and hard.

Every cloud has a silver lining.  We'd like to thank our robber for highlighting some shortcomings in the various security measures at Sportz Central and steps have been taken immediately to resolve them.

We anticipate operations being back to normal within a few days.
