CHBA Player Eleanor Hewitt vying for a place in the NSW U18's

Suns rep player Eleanor (Ellie) Hewitt will travel to Gosford this weekend for the final selection in the NSW Country U18 team.

Ellie is one of 15 players  from 9 country associations invited to the final trials and is the sole CHBA representative in a squad dominated by the Newcastle and Illawarra associations.
In fact Ellie is the only player from the area north of Newcastle and the only NJL player to receive an invite - a testament to where she stands among the north coast's basketball elite.

In addition to her 2014 junior representation with the 'Suns' Ellie participated in our Tuesday night Women's comp, where, thanks to the use of Stadium Scoring, we can tell you that she was the leading scorer across 9 games during the season with 83 points at an average of 9.22 per game.

She was also second in the 3 point tally with 5 for her season ansd second in 2 point baskets just behind category leader, Jane Shaw.

We hope all this practice with the fast paced, fully timed games, the shot clock and her shooting stats help Ellie gain selection in the NSW U18 Country team.

Successful selection will see Ellie win herself a trip the Nationnal Championships in Ballarat, Victoria in the second week of the first school vacation.
Good luck Ellie from the Suns.
