On Saturday, there were a couple of instances of coaches/parents/supporters abusing our junior referees.
All coaches, parents and supporters need to be aware that our Saturday morning referees are all learning and do not need people yelling and making disparaging comments to them. We at CHBA follow the zero tolerance stance.
From all reports, the referees didn’t take the upsetting comments made on board, however, they were still out of line and uncalled for.
Junior referees are going to miss things, however, they all do their best.
Please refrain from making abusive comments to the referees and make sure you encourage the children and players to do their 3 cheers for the referees regardless of your feelings towards them. We are here for fun, not sheep stations.
If you feel that there is something we can do better in teaching our junior referees, please feel free to contact our office or our court supervisor to discuss this. We are always open to assistance, just not abuse.
