Sun's Men in Sensational Form

Fans were treated to a ‘shoot-feast’, with both teams throwing up shots from all spots on the floor. The Suns were ahead at every quarter, but Tamworth drew level during the second and third quarters. Strong rebounding kept the Suns in the game with Taylor Schmidt and James Beaton dominating the boards at both ends of the court.  Mid court speed from Simon Mackey and Rex Clutario put pressure on the Tamworth ball carriers, while junior Liam James stepped into the senior league with confidence.

The Suns scoring was shared around the team, but import Jerard Ajami was on fire most of the game, scoring 31 points, with 12 points coming from bombs outside the 3 point line.  Taylor Schmidt put in 19 points, while James Beaton contributed 13.

The win was a moral booster for the Sun’s men, with the season closing fast.  With repeat performances over the next few weeks, the Suns could well be medal contenders as the season finals close in.
