Vale Kerrie Badewitz

Representative basketballers over several generations would be saddened to hear of the passing last weekend of Port Macquarie (PMBA) basketball stalwart Kerry Badewitz after a long battle with cancer.

Our photo taken from the PMBA website shows Kerrie with her children Daniel, Sean & Erin.

Kerrie, a life member of PMBA was one of the stalwarts of the Association serving as a Board member, Competition Manager, Representative Basketball delegate and volunteer whenever help was needed. Kerrie also worked on behalf of all country basketballers as a member of the NSW Country Basketball Board and managed many country teams to regional, state and national championships.

Our own Coffs Harbour basketballers of all ages would have seen Kerrie when Port teams visited Coffs and when Port hosted Basketball NSW camps and clinics - she was always on hand to make sure things ran as they should.

On behalf of the basketball families of Coffs Harbour we extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Kerrie's family and to PMBA who have all lost a great member of their family.

Kerrie's funeral will be held at St Agnes Catholic Church in Port on Thursday 7th August - visit the PMBA website for more details.

The family have requested in lieu of flowers contributions to the North Coast Cancer Institute or the Breast Cancer Foundation.
