CHBA held the semi-finals and finals of its Primary School Competition last Saturday to bring to an end 13 weeks of competition and a week of Basketball Blitz, broken up with a week of Hoop-It-Up 3-on-3.

We were delighted that so many parents, brothers and sisters, aunties, grandparents and friends and schoolmates came out to support their favourite teams.  It helped to make it a great day for the players.

Sportz Central was certainly buzzing as teams played both their semi-finals and then their grand finals in the one day.

When the final siren sounded to mark the end of the 2014 season, it was the teams from Bishop Druitt College who stood highest in the rankings with grand final winners in 3 grades.

St Augustines took the honours in two grades while Mary Help of Christians and St Francis Xavier each took the winner's trophies in one division.

CHBA General Manager, Steve Smith used the presentation ceremony to the winners and runners up to acknowledge the efforts of the young referees who have whistled games all season and did a great job on the finals day.
The comments were warmly applauded by the players and supporters present to take part in the presentation ceremonies.

General Manager Steve Smith, thanked the parents of our Primary School competitiion for supporting the participation of their child or in many cases their children in our competitions.
The looks on their faces on Saturday, showed that it was well worth the effort.
A special thank you was extended to those parents bold or brave enough to take on the responsibility of being team managers/coaches because without your efforts the young players could not participate.

CHBA also acknowledges the work of competition supervisor Vicki Robertson and referee coordinator Sandra Mottram, whose professional attention to their competition responsibilities have helped us deliver a good experience for the players.

CHBA appreciated having Jess from Yogurtland - one of our competition supporters on hand to assist with the medal presentations.

CHBA will be bidding farewell to a few Primary School basketballers who in 2015 will make the transition to High School.
We hope to see you back in February 2015 as a member of one of our Friday night High School teams.
Enjoy your game.
