CHBA Adopts Simplified Codes of Behaviour for Referees

Please click on the 'pdf' below to download a version of the Simplified Codes of Behaviour recently adopted by the CHBA Board.

The codes apply to all participants in our domestic competitions including referees.

If officials expect appropriate behaviour from players, coaches and supporters, they need to lead by example and demonstrate appropriate behaviour themselves.

A reminder to all officials, that once you pull on that striped shirt you are identifying yourself as a referee and even when you are playing, coaching or supporting, people will "see" you as a referee.
Any poor conduct while you are involved in basketball in these other roles will reflect on you as a referee.

The codes are meant to guide your behaviour not instruct your every move, so we hope all participants in the game will look to the "spirit" of the codes and act accordingly.

If you are involved in representative basketball, CHBA and BNSW have imposed more detailed Codes of Behaviour for those actvities and you should speak to our Referee's Co-ordinator about what these mean for you.

Enjoy your game and help others to enjoy their's.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
