Where does the money go?

During the month of September CHBA paid over $8,000 in court hire to Sportz Central and this brings to almost $60,000 the amount we have paid to them this calendar year.

That should remind you that CHBA is tenant in Sportz Central which is owned by CHCC and managed by Basketball NSW.

We have a monthly bill to Basketball NSW of $5,700 and in the year so far this brings to more than $45,500 our payments to our State body and over the course of the year will see us paying them more than $57,000.  This payment is your annual registration fee - it adds up doesn't it!

Referee payments for the month of September were almost $3,800 - a slow month because remember, we were out of competition and on school vacation break.
For the year so far we have spent almost $25,000 employing referees to whistle your games.

In case you were wondering, all of the CHBA rep programs run on a user-pays basis - there is no siphoning of income from our domestic competitions to fund our rep. program.

You will note there are no figures there for any of our administration costs like phone, internet, photocopier, staff payments.

I do hope these snippets of financial information give you some insight into the costs involved in conducting our competitons and activities.

Contrary to what the picture suggests, we know money does not grow on trees and we strive all the time to keep our costs under control while also delivering you value for money.

If you have any ideas on how we can improve our offering, please feel free to drop our GM a line or jot your ideas on the suggestion blanks near the suggestiosn box in the stadium.
