Association officials pleased with interest in 2015 Rep. program

Almost 120 boys and girls across the 8 age groups from U11's to U17's assembled at Sportz Central last weekend to try to make a Suns Rep team for the 2015 season.

The strength of the CHBA program is shown in the fact that players from Port Macquarie, Grafton and Tamworth, even some carrying injuries showed up for two days to compete for spots in the Suns line-up.

The CHBA Rep. and Coaches Committee see the strong showing as an endorsement of the programs they have conducting through the Spring, of the Suns organisation and of the coaches already named for 2015 positions.

It is very clear that should they qualify, the Suns will be able to nominate teams into every Country Premier League (CPL) division from U18's down to U12's and will also be able to field teams in the Northern Junior League (NJL) in U16 men and women, U14 men and women and U12 women.

The Rep. and Coaches Committee were very pleased to hear complementary remarks from visitors and first time particpants on the way in which trails were conducted.
Visitors from other associations were under the impression that CHBA were being assisted in the conduct of the trials by external consultants.

Based on the number of playing seeking selection, the association may indeed have to consider third teams in some age divisions.

Many of the CHBA teams will be travelling to Port Macquarie this weekend for their Seaside Classic and will then line-up for some high intensity competition at CHBA's Hoop it Up 3-on-3 carnival the following weekend.

CHBA is presently seeking expresions of interest from coaches to lead our division 2 teams in 2015.
If you are interested, please see the story elsewhere on our page or under the Suns Reps tab on the top menu.
