CHRISTINE Harris was unstoppable in Riddell’s thumping 81-25 win over Broadford in the Riddell District Netball League.
The goal shooter scored a mammoth 66 goals in the Bombers’ big win. Yasmin McGregor was next best with 13 goals.
Riddell is sitting third on the ladder, the win also giving it a massive percentage boost.
Sitting atop the ladder remains Melton Centrals, who kept their unbeaten record in-tact with a 60-49 win over Rupertswood.
After a strong 18-10 opening term, Rupertswood got back within five points by half-time and trailed by only seven at the final break.
But the Centrals outscored Rupertswood 16-12 in the last.
Rebecca Morabito and Renee Hulls shared the scoring, both hitting 30 goals.
Sunbury also kept in touch with the Centrals at the pointy end of the ladder with a 47-29 win over Wallan.
The Kangaroos were slow to start, leading 10-7 at quarter time, but did it comfortably thereafter. Kila Elavo had 22 goals in the win.
Macedon had a 49-37 win over Lancefield while Romsey enjoyed a big 76-29 win over Rockbank.
Romsey’s fund-raising for Breast Cancer Network Australia raised $12,500 this season. The Redbacks’ footballers and netballers have played in all-pink apparel for certain matches for the past three years, raising almost $30,000 as a result.
