This Sunday, Rockbank and Melton Centrals will be battling each other on the field, but off the field they’ll be joining forces to help battle anxiety & depression within the community.
Sunday is Blue Day at Rockbank, with the game registered with beyondblue as an official support day for beyondblue to help create awareness of debilitating illnesses such as anxiety and depression, which can lead to one of the biggest killers in today’s society – suicide.
The Rockbank FNC will be running various raffles and auctions on the day with proceeds donated to beyondblue, as well as information available on the day about the services beyondblue can offer and wristbands to take away.
The best player in the senior football game will be awarded with the Chris Psaila Medal, honouring a Rockbank player who recently passed away after a battle with depression.
So come along on Sunday not just to watch some great football and netball, but to help fight issues which touch us all, and to help beyondblue continue to do the great work they do in creating awareness, and giving support networks for those with anxiety and depression.
