Tasmania has received a record high of seven invitees to the AFL National Draft Combine to be held Tuesday 1st to Friday 4th October 2013 at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne.
The 2013 Tasmanian AFL National Draft Combine invitees are as follows:
Burnie Football Club: Brady Grey and Eli Templeton
Devonport Football Club: Alex Pearce
Glenorchy Football Club: Zac Webster
Launceston Football Club: Jake Kolodjashnij and Kade Kolodjashnij
North Launceston Football Club: Toby Nankervis
The players, representing five RACT Insurance State League clubs, will take part in a range of testings at the Combine including the beep test, 3km time trial, vertical jump and 20 metre sprint, psychological profiling and will also meet with the AFL clubs interested in recruiting the players.
AFL Tasmania’s Chief Executive, Scott Wade is extremely pleased with the number of invitees for the State, “this is a great endorsement of our talent programs and the Tasmanian State League, which we clearly believe prepares these players for their future careers in AFL football”.
All seven invitees were key players in the 2013 State U18 Academy significantly contributing to their Division Two Championship title.
AFL Tasmania’s High Performance Manager, Mathew Armstrong said, “This is a great reward for the players but equally for all staff members, coaching and operational, that have put a lot of time into the young men”.
