The Round 1 AFL Cairns Rising Star Nominee is Cairns Saints up and coming utility, Beau Hollingsworth. Only introduced to the game in mid-2014 year from Basketball, Beau made his senior debut last week against Cairns City Lions after playing in impressing throughout the XXXX Gold Preseason Cup.
Beau is a tremendous athlete and in years to come, his stature and physical presence will develop further making him a prospect of the future in the AFL Cairns Competition. Being new to the game, Beau is willing to listen to instructions to improve his game and is always asking his senior team mates what he can do to better himself. Beau’s greatest asset this early in his career is his versatility.
In Round 1, Beau played in the Ruck, across Half-Back and even pushed forward when needed. He is a great overhead mark, has good hands at ground level for such a tall player and this right footer also has the ability to run all day.
