BROTHERS VS YEPPOON
In the season opener, these 2 teams had a tight contest with Yeppoon prevailing late in the game by a couple of goals. Since then Yeppoon seems to be improving week by week, however Brothers have been struggling to find some confidence and consistency with their game.
As always the challenge for the Roos will be to contain the young, hard-running brigade of Matt Wallin, Sam Nicholls, Dan Watkins and Lee Milway. They will also need to find ways to convert goals from their forward 50 entries or at least lock it in. If Yeppoon can rebound out quickly and precisely then they will apply lots of pressure on Brothers backline.
Brothers will put up a fight, but Yeppoon appear to be in good touch and take plenty of confidence from the game against BITS last week.
Prediction: Yeppoon by 41 points
PANTHERS VS BITS
The last time these 2 sides met, Panthers were embarrassed by the Saints with a 40 goal thrashing. Panthers still haven't got over that result and if BITS open the game with a bang, the mental scars of the previous encounter will be re-opened.
John 'The Animal' Berouit will be licking his lips for this game, last time he basically had no opponent and helped himself to 20 goals, expect more of the same this time. His partner in crime, Adam Rakip could also have a day out.
Expect Panthers to show a little more fight this time around, however the stronger, more experienced and talented BITS line-up will win the game comfortably.
Prediction: BITS by 123 points
GLENMORE VS GLADSTONE
The final game of the round will see Glenmore at home to Gladstone. Gladstone at home are always a tough ask, however when they have to travel up the road to Rocky things are always a little different. Gladstone doesn't have a lot of depth so they need all their stars to make the trip.
The midfield battle will be interesting, the Payne brothers will go head to head with Gladstone's talented youngsters Cam O'Grady, Daniel Clay and Chris Foura. Glenmore appear to have a bit more fire power up forward and are welcoming the committed return of the talented Derek Mangan.
Should be a good contest, but can Gladstone put 4 quarters together to win?
Prediction: Glenmore by 57 points
