The DV Schools Program made its debut at a new school in recent weeks – having the opportunity to share the game with the students of Thomastown Primary School.

Thomastown is a multi-culturally diverse school and the students took part in sessions that introduced many to their first bit of exposure to the sport and the challenge of learning new skills and ideas.

Despite many being acclimated to other sports, the students threw themselves into the deep end and gave it their best – with many instincts from experiences in those other sports being able to be linked to Basketball. The joy on their faces when they nailed a skill or won a competitive game against their classmates was terrific to see.

We would like to thank Suzie De Palma, Thomastown Primary School and the students for allowing us to come and plant the seed with the students that Basketball is an incredibly fun and rewarding sport to take part in. Many great lessons such as teamwork, cooperation and positive communication are all valuable transfers to every day life.
