Civic League Wrap - Round 6
It has taken six weeks but we now have a single ladder leader with Greenhills defeating the Splashers in a fiery encounter. This week has also gave us a few surprise upsets with 2 points separating 3rd to 7th on the ladder.
Round 6 Results
6.10PM St Mary’s Sharks 55 v Gale Force 71
Gale Force have got the win they were looking for against the highly talented St Marys Sharks. With both teams missing players it was a test of fitness to see who would outlast the other. After being tied at half time Gale Force were able to run away with the win, off the amazing night for Nick Jones. It was another great night for Mark Scherf who had a massive dunk in traffic which would of being a great spectacle for people at the game. Both teams will be hoping for players to return to help catapult their seasons.

7.05PM Greenhills Beavers 68 v The Splashers 60
The top of the table clash was a fiery encounter with both teams leaving everything on the court. The game was a great spectacle with both teams showing why they were undefeated up to this week. The Splashers came out firing leading at one stage in the second quarter by 15 points thanks to a shooting frenzy from Sam Whelan. However, the veteran Beavers did not lose their composure with overcoming the slow start with Dean Plummer sealing the win with 3 3’s in the last quarter. Adam Moore will be the key point of emphasis for the Splashers next time these two teams meet, finishing with 27 points.

8.00PM Wolves 51 v Uni Hill 69
The return of several key players has definitely helped Uni Hill, with a convincing win against the struggling Wolves. With several highly talented players they were too difficult to contain for the Wolves. Lincoln Garfirth and Ernst Kruger were the standouts for the game with their size and skill making it extremely difficult to stop.

8.55PM Dream Team 61 v Redbacks 64
Another massive upset for the last game of the night with Redbacks overcoming the scoring juggernaut, Dream Team. Redbacks have won their third game in a row and all thanks to their shared scoring load making it extremely difficult to shut down all of the scoring options. It seems Dream Team were not informed that Paul Meager was a sniper from behind the 3 point line finishing with 6 made 3’s on the night, including 1 to take the lead in the last minute of the game. Dream Team will need to regroup to take down the undefeated Beavers next week.
