Civic League Wrap - Round 11

A highly contested week with our top 4 teams playing against each other to advance their spot on the ladder. Uni Hill and Redbacks are not far away, trying to sneak their way into the top 4. It was also the week where we have received our first drawn result.

Round 11 Results

6.10PM St. Mary’s Sharks 54 v Greenhills Beavers 62

This game turned out to be a great game with Greenhills again showing why they are the team to beat this season. St. Mary’s gave it everything they had, but the absence of Cameron Conlon was significant as Adam Moore dominated the game. There were positive signs for the young Sharks showing they can compete with the best of them, James Cross had a great game against his old club finishing with 13 points.

7.05PM Gale Force 40 v Uni Hill 63

Uni Hill caught fire after the first quarter, finishing with 11 made 3 pointers for the night. The first quarter was one to forget for Uni Hill, only making their first FG on quarter time, but from there it was all systems go.  Will MaCrae on debut was on fire with 4 made 3’s, while Jason Hendry returned from his stint on the sideline with 13 points also.

8.00PM Dream Team 72 v The Splashers 72

Even though the result was a draw, Dream Team should not be disappointed scoring a game tying shot in the last 20 seconds of the game. Not only did they prevent Splashers the win, they were down to 4 players halfway through the second due to one of their players fouling out. The scoring ability of Dream Team was in full array with Pat Green and Eric Miraflores carrying the load at the offensive end.

Eric Miraflores (Dream Team)

Sam Whelan (The Splashers)

Patrick Green (Dream Team)

8.55PM Redbacks 57 v Wolves 46

The Redbacks continue to be in the hunt for a top 4 spot with a convincing win against the Wolves. The hot shooting form of Paul Meager was key for the Redbacks win, finishing with 22 points on the night. The Wolves slow start proved to be the difference as they could not get passed the double digit lead given up at the end of the first quarter.
