SEABL MENS COACHES ANNOUNCED

Following the announcement of Grant Wallace as the head coach of the men’s SEABL team, the DVBA is pleased to announce the support staff for season 2018.

Marcus Todd joins the bench as an assistant coach, “I am thrilled that Grant and the DVBA have given me the opportunity to be part of the inaugural Diamond Valley SEABL men’s team. As a junior, playing both domestic and rep basketball at Diamond Valley, I had to move clubs to compete at this level as no such pathway existed at the time. It is an honour to have the opportunity to contribute to the success of my club’s SEABL program, in turn providing a high-level pathway for my children, their teammates and club mates, within their home club.”

Dee Butler joins the bench in a different role this year as an assistant coach. Dee returns for 2018 after previously coaching our Senior Women’s team for the last two years, “I am stoked to be on board the inaugural men’s SEABL program and really excited for this next chapter for DVBA. I am looking forward to the opportunity of working with and learning from Grant who has been at the helm of SEABL programs before and has vast experience in diverse coaching environments.”

Charlie Fyffe completes the staff taking the final assistant coaching position. “I am thrilled to join Diamond Valley for their inaugural SEABL season. It is great to have this fantastic opportunity to work with Grant, Marcus & Dee and I look forward to the success we will have together for this season and beyond.”

“I am really excited by the high calibre of assistant coaches we have assembled for the SEABL Men in 2018.  All three in Dee, Charlie and Marcus provide high end basketball I.Q. and are all well respected within Diamond Valley Association and the larger Victorian Basketball coaching community.  Each Coach brings a different perspective and mind-set which I am sure will provide for many informative debates during the year. Most importantly all three are amazingly good people and we all cannot wait to get on the floor!  Add to this staff Braden Cotter who is looking after the Youth League men’s team and we have an exciting coaching roster for the SEABL year ahead.”

DVBA Director of Coaching Alan McAughtry is excited about the staff for our 2018 SEABL Men. "It has been an exciting time helping put this staff together, it offers a wealth of experience with Grant Wallace leading the team. Having Marcus Todd stepping into the role of AC will definitely bring some defensive grunt and passion to practice while helping Grant prepare the team. Dee Butler moving into the role of AC with the men continues to show the opportunity the program offers it's coaches.  Finally having Charlie Fyffe back in a familiar role after spending time with our senior men for two years, is a great opportunity for him" - Alan McAughtry DVBA Director of Coaching

SEABL Men’s trials have begun, with the second trial held on:

Sunday 29th October 2pm-4pm at Diamond Valley Sport and Fitness Centre
