The Buddy Program Community Project

The Buddy Program Community Project

On Sunday 29th October, the Diamond Valley Girls Buddy Program met to discuss their first community project. After plenty of discussion, the girls decided that they would like set up a team to participate and raise money for in the Pat Cronin Foundation through the Walk to the Valley.

Pat Cronin was a 19 year old boy who was taken away far too soon by a senseless act of violence in April 2016 where Pat was struck while assisting a mate. The Pat Cronin Foundation has been set up in Pat’s honor to prevent senseless acts of violence.

The Walk to the Valley is a family friendly 8km walk from Heidelberg Football Ground to Lower Plenty Football Ground with food and entertainment (music for the adults and jumping castle and slide for the kids) at the end of the walk. This year one of our sponsors Dysons Buses will be offering a shuttle service to get you to Heidelberg at the start or back to Heidelberg at the end of the walk. Four legged friends are more than welcome.

The event is Sunday 19th November at 10am. We understand that there will be many who have training during this time however we ask that you support the girls in any way that you can whether it be joining the team and taking part, or donating to the cause. No amount is too small. To participate it is $25 per adult and kids under 12 are free. The aim for the girls is to raise $500 for the foundation however there is no limit to what we can raise.

Please follow the link below to support the cause and our girls. State Member for Eltham, Vicki Ward has joined the team and will be walking with the DVBA members on the day.

The DVBA would like to congratulate the participants of the Buddy Program for giving up their time to raise money and awareness to such an important foundation within our region.

GO EAGLES!
