Senior Championship Weekly Wrap

A successful weekend for our Senior Championship program, with 3 wins from 3 games! We were also able to recognise those who help our competitions run, with our Volunteer Night.

VYCW

Eagles 71 def. Altona Gators 59

The Eagles were able to overcome a slow start to get another win, this time against an in-form Gators outfit. The Eagles’ defensive pressure was the key to their win, forcing 29 turnovers! 4 Eagles finished in double figure scoring, with Mikayla Peterson leading the way with 20 points. A great team effort, pushing the team up the ladder in 3rd position, only 1 game behind 1st!

VYCM

Eagles 114 def. by Altona Gators 67

The VYCM put on an offensive display, particularly in the first half with they had 79 points. The Eagles were led by Jack Roberts, who put in one of the great scoring performances, finishing with 54 points on 69%FG and 4/6 from the 3 point line. Jack had the hot hand, and his teammates did a great job finding him throughout the game. This is the team’s 2nd win of the season, and possibly a sign that their season will turn around!

SEABL Men

Eagles 84 def. by Canberra Gunners 61

The SEABL Men were able to make it back-to-back wins on Saturday night, beating Canberra in comfortable fashion in front of their home fans! The Eagles’ win came off the back of a strong second quarter where they held Canberra to just 9 points and went into the half up by 9. Daniel Camps led the team with 21 points and 7 rebounds, but the Eagles had multiple big contributors with 5 players finishing with double figures!
