Diamond Valley Basketball Association are pleased to announce the return of club favourite, Matt Reynolds, who has signed on as an Eagle for the 2019 season. Last year, Matt got to finally test his skills and abilities against the best backcourts in the Senior Competition, with his leadership being a driving factor in the second unit, averaging 4.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists, whilst also shooting a stellar 88% from the free throw line.

“It is great for the club to have Matt, currently our longest serving player on this team, back with us for 2019, CEO Ross Wignell stated. He adjusted well to the increase in size and athleticism last season and will be much better for it this year. Matt is a very good playmaker and shooter of the ball and I’m looking forward to watching him elevate his game further again.”

We spoke to Matt to get his thoughts on returning to the Senior Eagles and the upcoming season ahead;

“I’m excited to be back with Diamond Valley for another season. With the core group of the roster back from last season returning and some new additions, the team is hoping to make some noise in 2019. The coaching staff are ramping up our pre-season training, all the guys are looking really fit and ready for another successful season. I am just planning on getting out there and doing whatever I have to do for the team to win. Opening night of the season can’t come fast enough!”

In 2019, Matt will be an ambassador for Yarrambat Phantoms Junior Domestic, building on the strong link between our Senior and Junior programs.
