Eagles Announce State Championship Coaches for 2013

The Diamond Valley Basketball Association is pleased to announce the re-signing of STEVE SMITH as Head Coach of the State Championship Women and WARREN ESTCOURT as Head Coach of the State Championship Men.

 Technical Director of Coaching Alan McAughtry said the Club was more than happy with the progress of both the Men’s and Women’s State Championship teams during the year.

 “Our discussions with Steve and the results produced in 2012 made it an easy decision for us to resign Steve again as the Head Coach of our State Championship Women. Steve has worked extremely hard in promoting the young players within the Diamond Valley program and his vision for the future matches that of the DV Board”.

 Looking forward to 2013, Steve was upbeat and ready to commence the offseason process.

 “I am pleased to be offered the opportunity to continue on as the Head Coach of such as great program. Diamond Valley is one of only a handful of elite teams comprising of all home grown players, and we will again have more players promoted from our Youth League.” he said

 Additionally the Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Warren Estcourt as the Head Coach of the State Championship Men.

 “Warren comes with an exceptional coaching and playing resume. Warren’s presentation during the interview process was second to none, the board made the appointment after an extensive interview process from within the club and they ( board ) went with a very successful senior coach “ McAughtry stated.

On accepting the appointment Estcourt was quick to add; “I am looking forward to the challenge of helping the Eagles establish themselves as a title contender in the State Championship in 2013. Both the Club and myself have the passion and energy to achieve this”

 Try outs for both the Men and Women State Championship Teams will be announced shortly.
