The Diamond Valley Basketball Association would like to announce two new signings for the 2014 season. Simon Hickey will take the reins of the Senior Women’s team, while Tom Bandilovski will head the Youth league Women’s program.

“Simon comes to the club with extensive experience at both senior level (Big V) and Junior National level (Vic Metro Women). Simon will also head coach our U/16 girls program and is a great addition to the club. It is always a challenge to continue to attract good people and coaches to the club and we are very pleased Simon has joined the Eagles and look forward to building on the program Steve Smith has coached over the past few years.

I would like to acknowledge the work Steve has done within the Senior Program over many years at the helm of the Youth League Men, Senior Men, and Senior Women. We are very pleased that Steve will continue to work with our U/18 girls and continue to develop the next generation of Senior Eagles “– Alan McAughtry.

Youth League Women

“Tom has a proven track record of developing young players and has brought with him both international and senior women’s experience to our Youth League program. He has previously assisted our senior women’s team and is the current coach of U/14 girls team and is very excited to get the opportunity to be a Head Coach in our senior program.

To be able to give a coach from within the program the opportunity to grow and take the helm of a senior team with the view to develop both the players and the coach is very satisfying.

I would like to acknowledge the effort and passion from Andrew White who has head coached the team for the past two years and assisted before that. Andrew was instrumental in giving our junior players court time and opportunity and always was willing to help in the junior program, we wish Andrew all the best in the future with his coaching” – Alan McAughtry.
