The birds of prey lock claws at the Valley this weekend when our Big V Basketball Victorian Youth Championship Men take on the Waverley Falcons, Saturday night at 7:30pm.
Our Youth Men are on a 2 game win streak and have won 4 of their last 5 contests. Why, you ask ? A balanced attack and even spread of contributors.
Liam ‘Killer’ Killey has been a dominant force since splitting time in the Youth Men with our State Championship Men, averaging 16.5 points and 12 rebounds per game … but he’s not a lone hand.
Both Dan Girolami and Dylan Dunstan are adding 10.6 points, around 5 rebounds and 2-3 assists per game … each.
Throw in the contributions of 5-7 points and 3-5 rebounds per game from Anthony Kuel, Justin Petrie, Jack McAughtry, Jack Fleming and Lukas Kafritsas and now you begin to see why the Eagles are so difficult for teams to beat.
For the visitors, Daniel Kinkela is proving a handful for teams to contain as he averages 16.7 points and 11.7 rebounds per game in the season to date. Just as important to the Waverley lineup is Andrew Kennerley who adds 10.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists to the cause each week.
