Welcome Back Civic League

Civic League returned to the courts of Diamond Valley on Monday 3rd July. The competition was of a great standard with Big V imports, youth league players and state team representatives all fighting it out for the chance to win the grand prize of $1000. The players weren’t the only high standard members on the floor. We had current SEABL referees on the floor with some of our junior panel referees and it was great to see the development that their experience provided. The next game tips off at 6:10pm on Monday 10th July. Come down and support your favorite team!

Round 1 Results:

6.10PM Dream Team 73 v Gale Force 62

A fast paced game with plenty of scoring from both teams. With players still to join both teams you can tell they will be a team to watch. The individual brilliance of both Pat Green and Scott Dowell proved to be the difference in this game.

Top performers:

Pat Green (Dream Team)

Scott Dowell (Dream Team)

James Ryan (Gale Force)

7.05PM Greenhill Beavers 67 v Uni Hill 46

It was a big challenge for Uni Hill to face the formidable Greenhill Beavers round 1. Uni Hill did show a lot of resilience throughout the game but were not able to match the power of Adam Moore and the sharpshooting of Dean Plummer.

 Top Performers:

Adam Moore (Greenhills Beavers)

 Dean Plummer (Greenhills Beavers)

Jason Hendry (Uni Hill)

8.00PM Redbacks 59 v The Splashers 66

This game was extremely competitive with both teams not willing to give up an inch. The Redbacks made a late charge to try and steal the win but were unsuccessful with the young Splashers running away with the win.

Top Performers:

Bryson Norris (The Splashers)

Heath Hay (Redbacks)

Paul Meager (Redbacks)

8.55PM St. Mary’s Sharks 68 v Wolves 49

The shooting power of St. Mary’s was too much for the upcoming Wolves. St. Mary’s will definitely be a team to watch through the shooting power shown with 12 made 3 pointers. The Wolves gave it their all but could not overcome the long range Sharks.

Top Performers:

Mark Scherf (St.Mary’s)

Daniel Girolami (St. Mary’s)

Liam Bowkett (St. Mary’s)
