Congratulations Junior Eagles
Congratulations to our Junior Eagles who were selected for School Sports Victoria for their respected age groups. Stephanie Ganci from the U14 Girls 2 team, was selected in the School Sports Victoria (SSV) 12 years and under Victorian state team. Sharna Ayres, Chloe Hildebrand and Gabrielle Newton (all from our U18 Girls 1 Team) were all selected in the SSV Girls 18 years and under Victorian state team. Matthew Baggio from the U18 Boys 1 team was selected in the SSV Boys 18 years and under Victorian state team.
All 5 of our Junior Eagles were selected out of hundreds of athletes trying out for the top 10 places available in each individual Victorian team. Stephanie will be competing in the Geelong Tournament in November this year, then will head off to Adelaide for the School Sports Australia (SSA) Pacific School Games (PSA) Championships. Sharna, Chloe, Gabrielle and Matthew will be competing in the National Championships starting this Saturday in Canberra.
Jade Hodges, U14 2’s Eagles coach, had this to say in regards to Stephanie’s selection, “Steph has been an asset to our U14 team this season and a pleasure to coach. Her athletic ability enables her to play across a variety of positions and her shot finish is excellent. Steph is an exciting player to watch on court and I look forward to seeing what she can achieve in the Vic team! Go Steph!!”
We are extremely proud of all 5 of our Junior Eagles who were selected and we wish them the best of luck in their journey with School Sports Victoria.
