Recently our long serving Eagles Director of Coaching, Cecil Exum accepted an opportunity in a similar role, joining the Broadmeadow’s Basketball Association.

Cecil’s knowledge, energy and commitment has been invaluable to our Junior Eagles Program. He has played a very important role in working with and developing our younger coaches, the spin off being that we have made our younger players better basketballers. He has been a friend, coach, mentor and a source of knowledge to all he came into contact with at Diamond Valley. In his new role as the Director of Coaching at the Bronco’s, there is no doubt the coaches and players at Broadmeadows will reap the rewards of Cecil’s basketball knowledge, his ability to relate to both young and experienced coaches and his guidance to the development of the Bronco’s  junior players.

“I met Cecil when he first moved to Australia as we were team mates. Some 30 odd years later, our discussions have moved from playing to coaching. Cecil has done a lot of great work here at Diamond Valley and we wish him well in his new appointment with the Broadmeadows Basketball Association,” – Ross Wignell.

“I will miss our hoop chats, our NBA discussions, up dates on Dante and of course our banter when the Duke vs Carolina games come around. I want to thank Cecil for everything he has done for our association, his friendship to our coaches and his support during his time at Diamond Valley,” – Alan McAughtry.
