Alex Wilson Signs with Eagles for 2019
Diamond Valley Basketball Association are pleased to announce the signing of 2-time WNBL champion Alex Wilson for the 2019 Senior Eagles Women's squad.
The 24-year-old South Australian native has already had a very accomplished professional career to date, having stints with Adelaide Lightning, Townsville Fire and more recently, playing in the Sydney Uni Flames squad, where in the 2018/19 season averaged 12.6pts pg, 3.3 Rpg at 38% from the field!
Alex’ personal accolades include an WNBL Rookie of the Year trophy in 2014, two Gold medals representing Australia and a bronze medal at the FIBA U19 World Championship, averaging 13 points and 7 rebounds per game.
Jonathan Goodman, Head Coach of the Senior Women’s Eagles squad, had great things to say about this key signing. “I’m excited for what Alex will bring to our group. She has been an established competitor who has shown throughout her SEABL career she can score at a great clip. Her hard work over the years has earned her an Opals squad position, and we are excited to have an athlete of her ability and character at Diamond Valley”
In 2019, Alex will be an ambassador for Saint Helena Saints Junior Domestic Club, building on the strong link between our Senior and Junior programs.
