NBL1 Eagles re-sign Dylan Dunstan for 2019

Diamond Valley Basketball Association are pleased to announce the return of Dylan Dunstan to the NBL1 Eagles Mens team for the 2019 season. Dylan joined last years Senior side for 3 games for the 2018 season, whilst also playing a major leadership role in the Youth League Eagles Mens squad, averaging 12.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4 assists per game.

Dylan is a prime example of the Junior to Senior pathway here at Diamond Valley Basketball Association. Playing for many years in the Northern Junior Basketball League, he eventually worked his way through to the Eagles Junior Representation program all the way up to under 18’s. Spanning a fantastic 5-year Youth League career at the Eagles from 2013, Dylan finally got a small taste of Senior Basketball last year, playing a role in the second unit and gaining an incredible amount of player development. The combo guard has been regarded as incredibly hard-working, with his deadly 3-point range and high athleticism for his position.

“As a past Captain of our Eagles Youth League side, Dylan is an Eagle through and through,” Head Coach Grant Wallace stated. “An intelligent player, with a growing potency from the perimeter, he accepts arguably the toughest and most thankless role on the team in 2019, as he needs to ensure he is pushing our starters at every opportunity for his own development, and to make everyone better.”

This year, our Eagles Senior Teams will be competing against some of the best clubs in Australia, with Basketball Victoria announcing the new NBL1 League in 2019. Dylan will be an ambassador for Plenty Knights Basketball, building on the strong connections between the Junior and Senior programs.
