NBL1 Eagles re-sign Logan Hovey for 2020

Diamond Valley Basketball Association is excited to announce that Logan Hovey has re-signed for the 2020 NBL1 season. The 6-6 Forward from Orlando, Florida, prior to signing with our Eagles, has had a very successful basketball career to date, including playing for both NCAA division 1 & 2 Colleges.

Beginning with his Senior Year at Hagerty High School in Florida, he was named 8A player of the year by the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches, leading the side to a 2013 State Championship in Florida’s highest level of competition, averaging 22.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.

In 2013, Logan agreed to sign with NCAA Division 1 College, Florida Gulf Coast, playing 14 games across two seasons with the school. In 2015, the combo wing transferred to NCAA Division 2 College, Southwest Baptist, where in his Sophomore year he averaged 15.2ppg and 7.5rpg, with an All MIAA Honourable mention. His numbers continued to improve towards his Senior year, where he averaged 18.4ppg, shooting 51.4% from the field, and making the MIAA 2nd team!

The 2019 season saw Hovey showcase his dunking ability and immense athleticism on a week to week basis. He averaged 20.0 points and 7.1 rebounds per game and his consistency saw him win our 2019 MVP.

Head Coach Grant Wallace expressed his excitement to have Logan back for the 2020 season;

“Logan is one of the most likeable and coachable players you will ever find.  He has all the tools to be one of the best players in the NBL1 and beyond.  He displays an exemplary work ethic that is contagious with a perfect inside/outside game.  Returning from a standout 2019 with us, Logan will be better aware of the league and I cannot wait to see him an improved Logan Hovey on the floor in 2020.”
