AFL Cairns is once again preparing for Cairns’ only AFL Premiership match for the season. In 2013, Saturday, 13 July is match day, with the Round 16 twilight (4:40pm) game again seeing Richmond Football Club taking on the Gold Coast SUNS at Cazalys Stadium in the final year of the agreement with Richmond Football Club to bring their home game to Far North Queensland.

prepare to battle it out at the MCG on Saturday. This year Toyota AFL
Indigenous round remembers the moment Nicky Winmar raised his guernsey
and stood proudly for his culture on the footy field 20 years ago.

North Queensland talent Joel Newman is set to represent Townsville as a member of the under 16s Young Scorpions state squad at a trial game in Brisbane tonight.
Joel will join 39 other Queensland boys in an inter-squad test match run to select the 25 man state side.
Joel was the only Townsville member of the North Queensland representative team to be flown down south for the match

Geoffrey Saunders is putting together a publication for the 60th Anniversary of the league. There was a publication produced by Ron Hobbs for the 50th Anniversary and we are trying to find a copy to assist Geoffrey.

Due to the triathlon on Riverway Oval there needed to be some changes to the draw and the Tigers Reserves and Seniors have agreed to play at the later time slots of 3:00 for Reserves and 5:00 for the seniors to permit the junior matches scheduled for Riverway Oval to be played on Tony Ireland Stadium.

A SWEET dose of revenge is firmly on the minds of the Curra Swans ahead of their clash with the Hermit Park Tigers today.
The teams last clashed in the annual Anzac clash a fortnight ago, with Hermit Park comprehensive 15.15 (105) to 6.4 (40) winners.

The North Queensland U25 team will face-off against the U18 Queensland Scorpions at Tony Ireland Stadium this Saturday at 1pm.
With North Queensland looking to introduce a team into the North East Australian Football League (NEAFL) in the near future, the match will prove something of a test run.
Game starts at 12.30 followed by University Hawks V Thuringowa Bulldogs with games starting at 3pm and 5pm.

THE Hermit Park Tigers have kept their unbeaten record intact with a 16.12 (108) to 7.10 (52) defeat over the University Hawks.
The 56-point win puts Hermit Park comfortably on top of the RMS Townsville AFL premiership ladder, but the Thuringowa Bulldogs are not far behind after downing the Townsville City Lions 24.15 (159) to 6.10 (46).

A 42-point victory over Gold Coast North secured Brisbane North a spot in the decider while North Queensland won through with a win over Gold Coast South.

A curse has almost struck the Hawks since their first-round 98-point thrashing of Townsville City Lions, with players being struck down with injury and being unavailable because of work commitments.

THE HERMIT Park Tigers have maintained their run of form with an 83-point victory over Townsville City Lions.
Still battling a few bumps and bruises from Wednesday's inaugural Anzac Cup triumph, the Tigers were simply too classy in all areas and finished Saturday's encounter at Neil French Oval with a 16.13 (109) to 3.8 (26) win.
