WIDE BAY U12S BLOW AWAY THEIR POOL!

The U12 Wide Bay Primary Schools Team returned home Pool B (Country) Champions remaining undefeated in their pool games and loosing narrowly to Met West in their cross over game. After a tight tussle with Peninsula on the opening day of the championships in wet and heavy conditions the boys powered away from their opposition in their remaining games.

Each game there was continued improvement from the boys with their discipline, preparedness to listen, hardness at the ball and hard tackling highlights in each game.

Almost 1/2 of the team were from non AFL backgrounds and their excellent performances are testiment to their athleticism and ability to read the play. They adapted very well to AFL and performed at a very high level.

With 4 11yr olds in this years team 2010 should also prove to be an exciting year for Wide Bay Primary AFL.

After outstanding performances Tom King (HB), Brenton Philp (HB), Regan Glynn (HB), Daniel Kirk (HB), Josheph Bax (HB) and Bronzen Rowlands (Gym) were selected in the first ever QLD Country Team. Several other Wide Bay boys narrowly missed selection in this team also.

After some outstanding performances Joseph Bax was selected in the QLD Team to participate at the National Titles held at Maroochydore towards the end of July.

All parents who attended were very supportive of the team, opposition and officials at the carnival and must be thanked for their contribution to a very successful team.

A big thanks to Richard Dugdale for his efforts in managing the team and to Darren Hasuer (dad) who was our official runner. Rob Junker, Tony Naninga, Brad Grogan and mark Crowe are also to be thanked for volunteering their time as water carriers.
