2018 Hawkes Bay Basketball U15/U17 Representative Trials

U15 Boys (Players born in 2004 & 2005)
Trial #1: Sunday 11th February, 12.00-1.30pm, PGA
Trial #2: Monday 12th February, 4.00-5.30pm, Centennial Hall
Trial #3: Saturday 17th February: 12.00-1.30pm, PGA

U15 & U17 Girls (U15’s born in 2004 & 2005. U17’s born in 2002 & 2003)
Trial #1
: Sunday 11th February, 1.45-3.15pm, PGA
Trial #2: Monday 12th February, 5.30-7.00pm, Centennial Hall
Trial #3: Saturday 17th February, 1.45-3.15pm, PGA

U17 Boys (Players born in 2002 & 2003)
Trial #1: Sunday 11th February, 3.30-5.00pm, PGA
Trial #2: Monday 12th February, 7.00-8.30pm, Centennial Hall
Trial #3: Saturday 17th February, 3.30-5.00pm, PGA

* All interested players are required to attend all 3 trials. If an athlete cannot attend a trial, please ensure you have let Basketball Hawkes Bay know.
* There is no cost to attend the trials

U15/U17 Representative Programme Summary

U15’s & U17’s is for players of all ability who are keen to receive extra coaching and training. We are focussed on a climate of development and participation for players of all ages.

  • o   Basketball Hawkes Bay has the opportunity to send up to 7 Representative Teams to Easter Tournament in Tauranga as follows:
    2x U15 Boys
    2x U15 Girls
    2x U17 Boys
    1x U17 Girls
  • o   These teams form our U15 & U17 Representative teams in 2018. All Representative teams will be entered in the Central Zone National Qualifying Tournament during Queen’s Birthday Weekend hosted in Hawke’s Bay.
  • o   All Representative Teams will train twice per week throughout Term 1 & 2.
  • o   For those teams that qualify, the dates of the Basketball New Zealand National Championships are as follows:
    Under 17 National Championships: 11th-14th July, ASB Stadium Kilbirnie, Wellington
    Under 15 National Championships: 18th-21st July, Bruce Pulman Stadium, Auckland

U15/U17 Development Programme Summary

U15’s & U17’s is for players of all ability who are keen to receive extra coaching and training. We are focussed on a climate of development and participation for players of all ages and intend to provide opportunities to play & grow in the game of basketball to all players.

  • o   Basketball Hawkes Bay is hosting a Queen’s Birthday Invitational Tournament where players not selected in Representative teams will have the opportunity to compete.
  • o   These teams will have a weekly training during March, April & May.
