VENOM 2018 WOMENS BIG V COACHES ANNOUNCED

WBA makes HEIGH whilst the sun shines!

Warrandyte Basketball Association is pleased to announce the appointment of the 2018 BigV senior women's head coach.

WARREN HEIGH

Waz or Wazza started coaching junior domestic in 1999 and junior rep in 2001 for the Mornington Breakers. In 2006 he progressed to the BigV women for 5 years as head coach and in his 2nd season took the team to finals only to go down in a tight 3 game series by 4 points. In 2008 he was awarded BigV Coach of the Year at the annual presentation for that division.

Wanting to challenge himself he accepted an offer from Justin Nelson in 2011 to move to WBA Venom as his assistant and was part of the D1 Women's 2013 championship. During his time at with WBA Venom, Waz also coached the U20 VC girls.

Waz had to move to Darwin for work and was away for 3 years. During his time away and with his ventures back to Melbourne to see family he would always find time to appear at a game to watch Venom play.

Once back in Melbourne, Waz got reconnected with the association and the Youth League Women's team and assisted in some training sessions plus filled in as coach for the U18s serving to re-ignite his passion for coaching.

Please join me in congratulating and welcoming Wazza into this role.

YOUTH WOMEN - ANGELA HEIGH

Championship Youth League 1 Women head coach Angela "Ange" Heigh is back for 2018.

Following on from her amazing season with the squad this year, we can only imagine where the team will head in 2018.

Ange's passion and dedication to her team and the association was evident to anyone who watched her on court and the way in which she mentors her younger charges is a delight to behold.

Ange creates a true TEAM environment amongst her players, staff, families and supporters and it is a huge pleasure to have her continue on for next season.

Please join us in thanking and congratulating Angela for her commitment to the team and the association for the coming season ahead.
