Big changes have been made for round 3 of local football which sees Central's travel over the Hill to tackle South whilst the undefeated North team take on West's at the Jube.
South's welcome back Captain Michael Westley from a early season altercation with a lawn mower, whilst Jayson Higgins will be back to bolster the ruck for the Roos. Luke Jones and Cohen Caldwell also are good ins which will hep offset the loss of Bill Dolan.
Central's have dropped a bombshell naming Jaime Keenan who missed season 2011 after being a key Premiership Player in 2010. Whilst his fitness may be light on Keenan's presence will be a huge boast for Centrals in attack. Keenan was a steadying voice in 2010 and will provide a strong body to assist impressive juniors Riley Pearce and Jake Gepp in attack. Add the return of Bayden Quinn, Digby Schinckel and Centrals have 3 big mobile talls to help offset the loss of injured Cohen Sulicich. Runner Josh Camilleri is in after a good lightning cup campaign whilst Reserves star from last week James Winnard will debut.
At the Jube, Broken Hill's most talented soccer player Johnny Bugeja will debut for the Bulldogs after two outstanding games in Reserves off a wing. Bugeja has a great "step" and a turn of speed that will impress the casual observer. Also in for the Bulldogs are Brendon Martin, Kayle Grossi, James Zillotto and the evergreen James Harwood.
Out for the Bulldogs will be Quentin Bevan who lost an appeal at the Tribunal and will miss 2 weeks. West's have yet to release their team for Saturday but will play with Coach Dale Tonkin confined to the grandstand after failing to have a one game band overturned tonight.
Both games look very even on paper and patrons are assured of more great local footy all day at both venues. The under 13's play at 8.30am, 15's at 10am, the Women debut at 11.30am, Reserves at 12.45pm and A grade at 2.30pm.
