The North Football Club, in conjunction with AFL Broken Hill, is proud to sponsor this year's Call to Arms event in support of the NSW Cancer Council.
The event will take place during all games played this week.
Beginning on Wednesday night's Under 18 competition, Call to Arms donation collection tins were placed around the Jubilee Oval, teams wore Yellow arm bands and "Live Strong" yellow wrist bands were available for sale.
Standing out on the night was the North team in their striking Yellow socks.
North's Senior and Reserves teams will also wear yellow socks this weekend in support of the cause.
"All of the players purchased their own socks, through the NSW Cancer Council to kick start our fundraising!" North Vice President and organiser Justin Hoskins informs.
"We are also hoping that with the wrist bands for sale over the weekend, along with collection tins at both grounds, that we will be able to put together a decent size donation from the Broken Hill football community.
"We have all been touched by cancer in some way, and as a football community, sponsoring research for prostate cancer and other men's cancers, seems a no brainer really." Mr Hoskins said.
AFL Broken Hill Chairman, Peter Nash, congratulated the North Football Club on this worthwhile initiative and urged all Supporters of AFL to make a donation.
