15’s FLAG TO THE YOUNG BULLDOGS
North has won the 2012 under 15’s premiership with a solid 44 point win over a West team that competed hard for the four quarters.
North jumped away to a 17 point lead 2-5 to nil at quarter time, and that was against the wind, so things did not look good for the Robins.
West worked hard to score against the wind, but another 3 goals to North stretched the lead to 30 points.
West had their best quarter in the third term where they attacked often and won the quarter 2-1 to 1-4 but still trailed by 27 points at ¾ time. Three early West attacks in the last quarter all resulted in points and with that the tide turned and North scored the last three goals to stretch the result to 44 points.
Best on Ground was Sam Simmons, (afl medal) who was a ball magnet all over the ground. Kobe Mutch was another who found space to set up countless attacking plays whilst Lachlan Tiziani was great early before re injuring his arm. Tom Ragenovich was the stand out tall whilst Ethan Slater won the Shingleback trophy for best team player.
For West Jayden White is a wonderfully competitive player who runs relentlessly for 4 quarters. Malcom Buckland, Cody Ellis and Bruno Kennedy were all hard working midfielders, whilst Lucas Gray tried hard to be an attacking option.
