Basketball News Update - January 2015

In the coming days there will be also a couple of announcements regarding upcoming coaching courses in addition to the information below. 

 

Aussie Hoops

A Basketball Australia revamped Aussie Hoops and a new participation pack for the participants will commence on Wednesday 4th February at 4pm. This is a great program for the 6 to 10 year old age group prior to playing in a formal competition. Fun games that teach the kids the basics to assist with their development towards their first game or just improving their ball skills.

McBiddy Ball

McBiddy Ball will commence again on Friday 30th January. This is a beginner basketball program for especially the 4 to 6 year age group where basic dribbling, passing, shooting and catching skills are practiced. At just $2 a session it a cheap and great way to introduce youngsters to the sport. McBiddy Ball runs on Tuesday and Friday nights between 4pm and 5pm. Note on Friday 13th February McBiddy Ball will not be held.

 

Basketball Coaching Coaches 

There will be Level 0, 1 and 2 Coaching Courses being held over the coming months. All coaching courses will be advertised at www.bendigo.basketball.net.au

 

3 on 3 Event

The 3 on 3 event was held again last week and we thank all teams for ensuring the on-going success of the event. In particular the Junior event grew from 33 to 50 teams and is getting bigger each year. Results can be found be clicking HERE.

 

Bendigo Domestic Basketball

The season commences again from its break on Wednesday 28th January.

 

Skin, Ski and Surf Bendigo Junior Classic

The annual Bendigo Junior Classic will once again be held from Saturday 24th January to Monday 26th January. There will be games at Bendigo Stadium, Maiden Gully PS, Kangaroo Flat PS, St Libs PS, Girton Grammar, South East College, and Eaglehawk SC. With 230 teams playing it brings a great economic and social benefit to Bendigo and with all venues free a great chance to watch some great basketball from association rep teams from all over the state.
