The ABA committee invites ALL TEAM PERSONNEL (Coach, Manager/ess, Scoretable person) to attend this information session which will in turn benefit all teams involved in our junior competition.
- Please bring a notebook and a biro
- Wear footwear to be able to participate in courtwork if necessary
Programme
- Information on some new rules for 2019+ - courtwork/coach management of players and penalty situations – know your entitlements.
- Computerized scoring – hands on practical opportunity to get advice and improve operation.
- Scoretable information – practical session – hands on participation or just watch.
- Bylaw information for season finals.
- No Zone Defense – practical participation for better understanding. This will relate to local and championship competition.
- Correct procedure for time outs and substitutions. Understanding where/why ball needs to be inbounded from a particular area.
- Injury – FIBA rules, procedures, special situations, local ABA rules, treatment with ice packs.
- Carnival and Championship playing rule variations. WHY
- Timing for ABA finals. Understanding the operation of LLC timing devices – opportunity to get involved practically and ask questions. Timing rules for the last 3 minutes of play.
- Codes of Behaviour.
Sessions will be 15-20 minutes duration.
Morning tea will be provided by ABA
IMPORTANT
MANAGER/ESSES of Representative Teams are asked to ensure their teams personnel are in attendance.
