But wait... There's more!

SA Country athlete, Demi Skinner, is off to the Basketball Australian Centre of Excellence at the AIS in Canberra. Demi has been awarded a scholarship that will take her through to the end of June 2015.

Demi's progress in the last 12 months has been outstanding - it's a long way from Canberra U18 National Championships to the current day.

State High Performance Manager, David Ingham says "This demonstrates what a Country athlete can do. From Port Lincoln to the Centre of Excellence is a great testament to the hard work of Demi and her family. Having everyone including the Skinner family, to coaches and school all working toward the same goal has led to this opportunity."

"This scholarship puts Demi in the right place to put her name forward to represent the Gems at the World Championships this June in Crete, Greece. The National coaches will be selecting the team over the coming months and this is a fantastic opportunity to be in that environment and work on her game."

Everyone at SA Country wishes Demi the best and we will continue to watch her progress.
