Background on US Women's Football
US Women's Football started in 2003 with casual games between womens but now there are 8 teams located across America. Because of the distances involved most clubs play intra-club games of 9-12 a-side and rarely play 18 a-side. They annually play in the US Nationals which are held in a different location each year. Last year was a shock when relative newcomers the Calgary Kookaburras won the US Nationals. Internationally the US Freedom has defeated the Canadian Womens Team twice. SWAFL, AFL Cairns and the VWFL welcome the US Freedom to Australia.
