Round 11 sees a night game on Friday between St George Dragons and Western Wolves to kick off the round. The time has now been confirmed for 7:30pm. 3rd placed Wests will be keen to regain 2nd spot. The Wolves have introduced their new forward tactic of leaving the 50m arc open and then getting their fit and fast forwards running into it when the ball is launched getting players such as half-forward Cynthia Dufaut, Lauren Hazell and Rachel Mercer to scoop the ball and finish it off for a goal. This may be a challenge for St George's Backs. 6th placed St George have recorded two league wins in a row and will be keen to extend their winning streak.
The head to head record sees: Wests 6 wins, St George yet to win.
The development game has been canceled / forfeited by Bondi Shamrocks after sustaining many injuries in the NSW GAA League Final between the Michael Cusacks GAC and the Central Coast GAC as well as the Sydney University match.
At Mahoney at 10am 7th placed UNSW-ES Stingrays host 2nd placed Balmain. The Stingrays played one of their best games last week against St George and look forward to carrying their momentum into the match. 2nd placed Balmain are on a roll with new coach Tracey Kick seemingly tapped a new phase of enthusiasm amongst the Lady Dockers to win three league games in a row.
The head to head record sees: Balmain 18 wins, Easts 4 wins.
At 12pm to finish off the round 1st placed Newtown take on 5th placed Sydney University. Both sides suffering a loss last week will be keen to get back in the winner's circle. Newtown haven't been performing to their usual dominance in their last two matches and this match may represent the best opportunity for Sydney University to triumph over the Breakaways. Sydney University definitely felt that the match against the Shamrocks were there's for the taking but didn't utilise the ball effectively when kicking with the wind. So with both teams hurting, this should be a good match for the casual spectator.
Newtown 18 wins, Sydney Uni 4 wins
Reminder
If your team is in semi-finals contention a reminder that a player must have played 4 league games (league means any game not involving Macquarie University) before they can take the field in a semi-finals game. These last 3 or 4 games may represent the best opportunity to prequalify as much of your playing list as possible.
