The newest high school power in the league, the Staglets are the heavily favored to pull thru against the Light Bombers in the first game of a doubleheader at 12 noon. CSB-La Salle Greenhills tries to clinch the last semifinals berth against San Beda College in the second match at 2 p.m.

Holding a 5-6 mark and a game behind the Junior Blazers (6-5), the Red Cubs needs a win to forge a playoff for the No. 4 berth. But all eyes are on San Sebastian, which is aiming to be the first juniors squad to complete a double-round sweep of the eliminations since Letran last did it in 2000. Veterans Arvie Bringas, Raffy Gusi and Almond Urtuoste will banner the Staglets in their bid to achieve a rare feat and move closer in grabbing a 'four-peat'.

If they bag the outright slot at the finals, the Raymond Valenzona-mentored San Sebastian needs to win only once to clinch the fourth straight championship. Jose Rizal will be led by prolific forward Keith Agovida, who scored a league-record 82 points in their 127-49 hammering of Mapua last Friday. Agovida, who is playing his last season for the Light Bombers, is averaging a whopping 35 points per game
