Summer Blitz FAQ's

How long does the season run?

The Blitz runs for 10 weeks, with one additional week for Finals/Consolation Games. The Finals/Consolation Games will provide an opportunity for all players to celebrate the season and compete against a team of relatively even ability.

How much does the season cost?

$120. This will cover Basketball Queensland and Rockhampton Basketball registration and all court fees for the entire season. This will also include Basketball Queensland’s member insurance.

Can I pay my registration off over the season?

Unfortunately not. The full amount of $120 needs to be paid up front before a player can take the court. This is critical for our internal administration procedures, whilst also protecting you as a member under Basketball Queensland’s player insurance.

I don’t have a team. How do I get started?

You can either contact club delegates directly or alternatively contact the Rockhampton Basketball office on 4922 5544 and we’ll help you find a team. We have Division 1, 2, and 3 competitions in both the Men and Women’s leagues, so whatever your ability there is a perfect fit for everyone.

What if I have an entire team, can we register?

Absolutely. We are always looking for readymade teams and will even help align with you with one of our member clubs, which has a number of extra benefits. Just call the Rockhampton Basketball office and we’ll help you get started.

How do I register?

All registrations are done online. Head to www.rockhamptonbasketball.com.au and click on the icon in the top right corner. Simply follow the prompts. At the end of the process you will be able to finalize your registration with a credit card payment.

Please note: All players must be registered and paid up prior to taking the court for their first game.

*Important: If you have previously registered please click on I have registered previously and I know my username and password’ or ‘I would like to request my username and password’. Signing in with a new email will create a duplicate registration.

Can I just pay at the office?

We are strongly encouraging all members to register online, as we believe this is the most streamlined option both for our members and our staff. We realize that in some cases this is simply not possible. Unfortunately all office payments will incur a $20 administration fee.

When I go to pay it says there is a 3.9% surcharge. What is this?

This is the third party provider fee. We’re not thrilled about it either, but unfortunately right now there is no way around it. We will be exploring other options for future competitions.

When I register online, it asks me to enter my team code. What does this mean?

Each club has a unique team code for each Division. This allows us to enter you into the correct team the backend of our system, which means you will automatically be uploaded on score sheets. You can find your unique team code here

I’m a Junior member and would like to play in the Blitz competition. How do I make this happen?

Our competition By-Laws state that Juniors need to be 14 years of age or above to participate in the Senior competition. For all intents and purposes this means you are an U16 player. If you already hold a Junior Membership, you will qualify for the Junior Playing Up membership which is $65 for the season. Please contact the office regarding payment of this registration.

Do we play on public holidays?

The Summer Blitz season will run over the Australia Day public holiday on Mon 26th of January. Previous member surveys have come back with support for playing on Public Holidays as opposed to running bye weeks. Therefor we will continue to run fixtures on public holidays for the Summer Blitz with a view of exploring whether there are alternative options for the 2015 Winter competition.

I’ve got more questions. Where can I find some more information?

You can find out more about Rockhampton Basketball at www.rockhamptonbasketball.com.au, or by contacting our office staff on 4922 5544. We look forward to answering any of your queries.
