Southern Cross Challenge U14 / U15 State Teams

2012 Southern Cross Challenge

The Victoria Metro and Victoria Country programs will come together to play each other in a new basketball Victoria initiative.

The ‘Southern Cross Challenge’ (SCC) will be conducted from the 21st to the 23rd January 2012 in Ballarat. This event will then be held annually on the weekend preceding the Australia Day Weekend in January each year.

The SCC has been designed to give athletes at the Under 14 (1999) and Under 15 (1998) level an opportunity to compete in a round robin style tournament. It’s a fantastic development opportunity for the athletes, exposing them to future challenges that may lie ahead.

Vic Metro will take 8 Victoria Metropolitan teams (2 Under 14 Boys & Girls Teams and 2 Under 15 Boys & Girls Teams) to play against athletes from Victoria Country. The tour provides a great opportunity.

Athletes will be selected by their clubs to attend the tryouts which will be held in October.
