Why do you do what you do (president, board member, coach, volunteer)?
It’s been a huge part of my life growing up and it’s something I love doing.
What do you do when you are not volunteering/coaching?
Graphic Designer at Prominent Group in Shepparton.;
What has been your most rewarding experience in the role you currently have?
Seeing players grow in confidence, as well as seeing them enjoying their football and each others company.
Do you have a funny story or enjoyable moments from your experiences in any of your roles?
Seeing some of the assistant coaches at Shepparton try to play or train like they’re still 18.
What advice would you give someone who is on the fence about volunteering/coaching? If you think you’re ready to do it then I suggest to bite the bullet and have a crack. Coaching in particular can test you in many ways, but it gives you lots of skills that can be used in life in general.
Who is the best player to have ever played in the GVFL?
Brendon Parker was someone who I admired when I was younger and it was fantastic to play along side him. He was a match winner... but he’s toughness, work rate and leadership was just amazing to watch when he was in his prime.
What are you looking forward to in 2015?
I think the eveness of our competition is something that’s exciting. I’m looking forward to seeing who the big improvers are.
Which player do you think crowds will enjoy watching in season 2015 and why?
Shane McDonald has had a big impact so far and Saad Saad is always good to watch.
Who will play off in the Grand Final in season 2015?
Benalla & Mooroopna
If you could pick any player from within the league to be in your team who would it be and why?
Tim Looby because of his versatility and his ability to play well in big games.
